Collection: Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong (1901–1971), born in New Orleans, was the first great jazz soloist and one of the most influential in its history. With his characteristic trumpet playing and his improvisational genius, he defined the course of jazz as early as the recordings of the Hot Five and Hot Seven in the 1920s. At the same time, his distinctive voice and charismatic presence established him in pop music, with songs like "Hello Dolly" and "What a Wonderful World". Throughout his career, he collaborated with leading artists and toured the world as "Ambassador Satch", representing American music internationally. After his death, he was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
