Collection: Miles Davis

American trumpeter Miles Davis (1926–1991) was one of the most innovative and influential musicians in jazz history. With lyrical, introspective playing and a characteristic use of the Harmon mute, he shaped the musical course of the 20th century, bridging bebop, modal jazz, funk, and fusion. Throughout his career, he collaborated with leading musicians such as John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter. His albums Birth of the Cool (1957), Kind of Blue (1959), and Bitches Brew (1970) are considered milestones in jazz history. As an artist constantly restless, he continuously renewed his style, leaving an indelible mark on both jazz and contemporary music in general.
