Ron Carter

Ron Carter (b. 1937) is an American double bassist, cellist and composer and one of the most iconic and influential figures in jazz. He was a member of Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet from 1963 and has collaborated with many other important musicians such as Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Jim Hall, Eric Dolphy, Thelonious Monk, Tony Williams, etc., participating in dozens of albums throughout his long career. He has also recorded his own solo albums since the 1960s.
